Sam and Annie Frei here. Until recently, I was unaware of the grim reality of human trafficking. While working at a church in Omaha, I encountered Remedy Drive, a band raising awareness through music. Conversations with David, the lead singer, opened my eyes to the horrors of trafficking. The issue lingered in my thoughts, but feeling helpless, I did nothing for years. Simultaneously, my love for coffee grew since my college days, and the dream of opening a coffee company persisted. July 4th, 2023, watching "The Sound Of Freedom" in Okoboji, IA, marked a turning point. Unable to stay passive, I spent weeks contemplating ways to help. The conclusion: pair my passion for coffee with the fight against human trafficking. Thus, Katargisi Coffee was born—a high-quality specialty coffee brand on a mission to end human trafficking.
